El próximo mes de mayo Albania celebra sus diez años de participación en el Festival de Eurovisión. Si bien nunca ha conseguido el triunfo, el país logró un meritorio quinto puesto en el año 2012 de la mano de la cantante Rona Nishliu, su mejor puesto en estos diez años. Para Eurovisión 2014 presentan una propuesta joven e internacional: el país ha elegido a la cantante Hersi Matmuja como su representante con la canción "One night's anger", un tema pop-rock que interpreta íntegramente en inglés.
Hersi Marmuja nació en la ciudad de Kukës (al norte de Albania) el 1 de febrero de 1990. A sus 24 años es toda una veterana sobre los escenarios: empezó a cantar a los ocho, ha compaginado la música clásica y moderna por igual y se ha presentado en cinco ocasiones al Festivali i Këngës, el Festival de música más importante de Albania y que desde 2004 sirve además como plataforma para elegir al candidato del país para Eurovisión.
Letra de "One night's anger"
A la quinta fue la vencida y Hersi conquistó a su país en el Festivali i Këngës con "Zemërimi i një nate", una canción con letra del poeta Jorgo Papingji y música del productor y compositor Genti Lako, que en su versión para el Festival adopta el título de "One night's anger" ("La ira de una noche").
