He is Manuel Arroyo, a member of the General Directorate of Security of the Republic. The doctor treats the wounded man and, to prevent him from being killed, gives him the identity of a deceased person and puts him in his house until he recovers. Years later, Manuel's return from exile triggers a secret and dangerous mission, marking a turning point in Guillermo's life: he intends to infiltrate an escape network of fugitive war criminals led by a German and Spanish woman, Nazi and Falangist, called Clara Stauffer.
