"M.J. García Caparrós (Death in green and white)", a play by José Chamizo that has just been released. The former Andalusian Ombudsman, who is also a theatre director and playwright, has written a play featuring the sister of the Favourite Son of Andalusia as the main protagonist. It takes place in present-day and focuses on the memories that the family has about the events surrounding the murder of Manuel José on 4 December, 1977 during a demonstration held in Málaga calling for Andalusian autonomy.
It pays tribute to García Caparrós and a family who is fighting to keep his memory alive. It is also in recognition of the Andalusian community, who mobilised forty years ago to demand its autonomy.
