The governments of Spain and Portugal agreed on the need for the three rail corridors in order to improve exports from both countries to the rest of the continent.
The Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy concluded that "they are three very important corridors, which will reduce travel times for passengers and goods. " The collaboration in this matter is "exceptional", Rajoy emphasised, and he expects it "to be very useful in the future".
